Presentation one highlights the value of Virtual Exchange (VE). Providing students with opportunities for international experiences and intercultural encounters is key to equipping self-confident and critically thinking young people with the skills necessary to navigate their own life paths in a global, open society. VE is not about “match and learn”. Students also need mentoring by teachers or facilitators as they engage in their online intercultural collaborations with different cultural groups. Teachers should therefore be trained to carry out this role of pedagogical mentoring within VE experiences.
Presentation two highlights using EntreComp or Value to help showcase the “progressive performance description” that reflects the desired Learning Outcome and helps combat learning outcomes that are not specific, vague or universal.
