Internship:
An internship is typically a short work opportunity (a few weeks to several months) offered to students or recent graduates, and it provides practical experience in industry or job market. Internships are paid or unpaid, part-time or full-time. For the students, the primary purpose of an internship is to apply academic and theoretical knowledge to real world, acquire industry-specific skills, and explore individual career paths. Internships often include mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
Traineeship:
A traineeship is a structured learning program designed to provide specific vocational skills and knowledge in a particular trade or profession. It combines practical work training with classroom-based learning. Traineeships are typically paid, and the duration can vary depending on the industry and the specific program. During the traineeship, participants receive supervision and guidance from experienced professionals, and they may work towards achieving specific qualifications or certifications relevant to their academic field.

COIL stands for Collaborative Online International Learning. It is an innovative approach to education that involves virtual collaboration between students and faculty members from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
In a COIL course, students from two or more institutions work together on joint projects, discussions, and assignments using online communication tools such as video conferencing, email, and online platforms. The goal is to foster cross-cultural understanding, intercultural competence, and global awareness among the participants.
COIL courses provide opportunities for international collaboration without the need for physical travel. They promote cultural exchange and create a global classroom where students can learn from each other's experiences and perspectives.
COIL courses have different lengths and ECTS credits.
You can find the COIL courses on the Aurora course catalogue.
Please note: Fully online courses do not receive mobility funds.
Online courses could be short (less than 30 days) or long (more than 30 days) courses that accommodate students who do not wish to travel with a transnational learning experience.
Some online courses are pre-recorded and can be attended at the students' convenience, others are online with mandatory attendance.
You can find the online courses on the Aurora course catalogue.
Please note: Online courses do not receive mobility funds.
A hybrid course, also known as a blended course, is an educational format that combines both in-person instruction and online learning components. In a hybrid course, students participate in a mix of traditional classroom and virtual sessions.
The combination of in-person and online elements in a hybrid course aims to leverage the benefits of both formats. It allows for flexibility and convenience offered by online learning, enabling students to access course materials and complete certain activities at their own pace and location. Meanwhile, the face-to-face sessions promote direct interaction with the instructor and peers, fostering a sense of community, real-time discussions, and practical applications of the learned concepts.
Hybrid courses have different lengths and ECTS credits.
You can find the single hybrid courses on the Aurora course catalogue.
