Hornafjordur Research Centre


Description

The Research Centre is situated in rural Southeast Iceland, in close proximity to Vatnajökull icecap. Its research efforts are usually inter- or trans-disciplinary and concern diverse environmental issues, e.g. landscape and wilderness studies, protected area management and sustainable tourism. Its main focus is currently on climate change communication, based on the visualization through different media of the past, present and future melting of glaciers in Iceland.
