As part of the AURORA’s seminar series Open Science and Citizen Science: From Principles to Practices, this workshop will explore how principles translate into real-world practices.
Workshop: Open Science and Citizen Science: Practices and Challenges in Community Engagement
Join this workshop for a comprehensive overview of Open Science and Citizen Science, exploring their definitions and diverse applications in modern research.
The workshop will take place both in person — in Aula D’Ambrosio (first floor, staircase B, Cortile dell’Orologio), Department of Architecture, University of Naples Federico II, via Toledo 402— and online at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/hvkz7psw

The session will open with an introduction by Roberto Delle Donne (University of Naples Federico II) and Helena Cruz de Carvalho (Université Paris-Est Créteil).
Moving from theory to practice, the workshop will feature a Best Practice example from UNINA: Marco Salvemini’s STOPTIGRE project, showcasing innovative community engagement to contrast insect vectors. A concluding roundtable will facilitate discussion on the interplay between Open Science, research innovation, and public engagement.
Understand the principles, see the applications, shape the future of collaborative research.
