Do you want your doctoral research to reach a wide audience and make an impact on society? PhD Impact is an opportunity you should not miss!
At the height of the Icelandic summer, from 5 to 8 June 2023, the University of Iceland in Reykjavík will host PhD students and science communication experts from across the Aurora Universities for an intensive master class aimed at providing doctoral candidates with the fundamental skills to make an impression not only in academia but also in society at large.
Under the guidance of experts in scientific communication and public outreach, you will learn how to present your dissertation project in three minutes or less to generalist audiences through an exciting Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition. You will also take workshops on public speaking, effective slides, social media, podcasting, videos and much more, all in the company of a diverse group of peers.
Each participating university may send three PhD candidates and one expert who will be chosen through an internal selection procedure.
Each university will choose its PhD candidates and research communication expert through an internal selection process. The deadline for submitting the list of participants to the organizing committee is April 10, 2023.
