West German Biobank Essen (WBE)
Description
The West German Biobank Essen stores blood, blood derivates, urine as well as FFPE and snap frozen tissue. Besides the storage, administration and provision of samples, the WBE offers further services: production of tissue microarrays, slide scanning and extraction of nucleic acids. Before samples and data can be provisioned, a proposal has to be submitted to the scientific advisory board. The board reviews each proposal and consults further experts if necessary.
