Necropsy room of Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production of the University of Naples “Federico II”
Description
The Necropsy room is equipped with a big necroscopic table (cm 248×129) provided with an elevator system and four small necroscopic tables (cm 130×50). All tables comply with biosafety and biosecurity standard. A refrigerated room (+2°C) cm 281x108x235 and a freezing room (- 20°C) cm 281x108x235 allow storage of large amount of material. The room is equipped with four sinks for washing and disinfection of tools utilized for necropsy activities and an aluminum cabinet allows their preservation. All the procedures are carried out in compliance with the biosafety and biosecurity rules. A laboratory hood allows the storage and processing in complete biosafety of the tissues taken during the necropsy for the execution of collateral examinations (histological, bacteriological, toxicological examination).
