Description
The IT platform is employed to publish and disseminate e-book series in Open Access. Share Books has been created by the University of Naples “Federico II “- Centre for Libraries. Since 2015 hosts the research publications of the Universities participating in the SHARE alliance, which involves the collaboration of 11 Universities of Southern Italy. Research publications are submitted to a double – blind peer – review process and are published in Italian and in English. The University of Naples Federico II owns a digital publishing brand, FedOA Press.

The software used for research publications in Share Books is OMP-Open Monograph Press. Until today, 44 series, 247 volumes with open access have been published. Universities SHARE (Scholarly Heritage and Access to Research) is the IT platform employed for the access to library services shared by the Universities of: Naples (Federico II, Istituto Orientale, Parthenope, Suor Orsola Benincasa), Campania Vanvitelli, Salerno, Sannio and Basilicata, Salento. In the last two years the Society of Naturalists in Naples and the CEA. University Publishing Center of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio were involved in the project. All published works are licensed under the “Creative Commons – Attribution” license (CC-BY 4.0). The University of Naples Federico II owns a digital publishing brand, called FedOA Press; in Share Books works with this brand are published.
