The Aurora Sustainable Campus Action Plan inspires all Aurora university campuses to be leading examples in sustainability among the universities in their respective countries by outlining objectives that encourage further positive changes for highly sustainable campuses beyond the 2030 reported achievements. The Sustainable Campus Action Plan, in particular, outlines areas in which campuses can become even more energy-efficient to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, such as using more energy-efficient building materials on campus, increasing the use of renewable energy sources that are generated on campus, reducing the amount of waste produced on campus through sustainable procurement, and further reducing one’s carbon footprint by facilitating collaborative meetings virtually instead of travelling to meetings in person. Through these actions proposed, Aurora universities aim to lead the way in creating even more sustainable campuses to slow down the pace of climate change.
Aurora is a partnership of like-minded and closely collaborating research‑intensive European universities, who use their academic excellence to drive societal change.
