The Psychological Laboratory
Description
The Psychological Laboratory of the Department of Psychology primarily serves scientific research in the field of cognitive psychology and related disciplines, for example in social cognition. Its main purpose is to create controlled conditions for studying mental processes and behavior. In Psychology laboratory we have wide range of equipment. For example, software equipment includes a program for designing experiments, presenting stimuli, and recording responses (Superlab 5) with corresponding sets of standardized stimulus materials in visual and auditory modalities (e.g., The NimStim set of facial expressions). In addition, a battery of classical cognitive tests (e.g., the Stroop test) across multiple platforms (e.g., Inquisit) or a battery of computer-adapted psychodiagnostic tests (e.g., The Vienna Test System) can be mentioned. In terms of hardware, mention can be made of the dedicated RB 840 response devices, which allow the registration of responses without latency, as well as an interface allowing the connection of other specialised tools, such as eye-tracking technology.
