Television and Film Studio
Description
Television and Film Studio of the Faculty of Arts at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice is an experimental media workplace operating within the Department of Slovak Studies, Slavic Philologies and Communication. It was established to support research and education focused on the interaction of sound and image in media environments, which is essential for both theoretical and practical development in philological studies.
The studio serves as a space for academic research as well as teaching in the field of mass media communication. It plays a key role in connecting theoretical knowledge with real media practice. In addition, it provides facilities and technical support for the university television UniTV, where students actively participate in creating their own media content under professional guidance.
Located in the Aristoteles building in Košice, the studio is equipped with modern audiovisual technology, including professional cameras, lighting systems, sound equipment, and editing workstations. It consists of a television studio, a professional editing suite, and multiple student editing stations, enabling both individual and team-based production work.
The studio significantly enhances students’ practical skills, creativity, and readiness for careers in media and communication industries.
