Forest station Mieming

The research site in Obermieming, a red pine forest at an altitude of 980 m a.s.l., has been under construction since 2018 by a consortium of the Institutes of Ecology, Botany, Atmospheric and Cryospheric Sciences and Geography. The equipment of this research site includes an air-conditioned instrumentation container with power supply and wireless internet connection, a 30 m high measurement tower for micrometeorological measurements and a 6 m high walk-in tower for ecophysiological measurements. The towers are equipped with a wide range of sensors for quantifying micrometeorological and ecological processes.
