Aurora’s approach to research collaboration was presented to Czech research managers and administrators at the September meeting of CZARMA REGON in Brno. On 2 September 2026, Marie Jadrníčková, Aurora Research Officer at Palacký University Olomouc, took part in a CZARMA REGON meeting focused on the role of European university alliances in research and innovation.
Alongside colleagues from the EuroTeQ, EDUC and 4EU+ alliances, Marie presented how Aurora connects researchers and research support professionals across its member universities. She introduced the Aurora Incentive Call for Research and Education as a key tool for building new research and academic communities. This seed funding scheme supports new projects, thematic schools and short-term research secondments for early-career researchers, helping them establish international collaborations, exchange knowledge and expertise, and develop new ideas and initiatives across Aurora universities.
Marie explains: “It was inspiring to share best practices and identify the hurdles and bottlenecks we face in integrating research support into European Universities Alliances, where the research dimension should be seen as a structural necessity beyond just an optional enhancement.”
The event provided an important opportunity for Aurora to share its experience with stakeholders beyond the alliance. By engaging with research managers and administrators from Czech universities, Aurora contributes to the wider discussion on the research dimension of European Universities Alliances while building connections with the broader higher education and research community.
