READ-COOP SCE with limited liability was established as a European Cooperative Society to sustain and further develop the Transkribus platform. Transkribus is a comprehensive platform for handwritten text recognition used by thousands of scholars, archivists, librarians and family-historians worldwide. Transkribus was developed within the Horizon 2020 project READ (Recognition and Enrichment of Archival Documents) by a consortium of leading research groups from all over Europe, headed by the University of Innsbruck.
