Transversal and multidisciplinary research institute whose mission is to address the complex issues of Sustainability, Climate Change and the Energy Transition by adding and integrating the various perspectives offered by our five areas of research: Basic Science of Climate Change; Environmental and Climate Economics: Territorial Analysis; Governance, Environmental and Energy Transition Law, Environmental and Climate Justice; Health risks, Analysis of Human Behavior, Impacts of pollution on people and Ecosystems solutions; Technological solutions, Development of Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Systems.

University Social Responsibility Network (USRN) is a global network for the promotion of social responsibility as a core component of the university mission. USRN provides its participating members with an effective platform for productive collaboration in all USR fields, thus forming the vanguard for the global spread of social responsibility. The platform has 20 participating universities spread across the global continents.

The UniNEtZ partner institutions take on so-called (co-)sponsorships for the SDGs. A sponsorship means that the institution coordinates and compiles all knowledge and activities throughout Austria on the respective SDG. Participation describes the content-related collaboration on a specific SDG. Through these intensive collaborations and professional engagement with the SDGs, all contributions are collected, critically examined and coordinated with each other in order to work on the development of an options paper in the period 2019-2021. This is intended to support the Austrian government in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
